Practice members frequently ask about the correct pillow or pillow recommendations. Patients will even bring in their pillows and show us how they are sleeping. It gets tricky because each bed is different. There are so many types of beds from air mattress, conventional and memory foam. This affects how much your shoulders sink in to the bed. As a general rule of thumb we want to keep the spine in a neutral position. We do not want the head to be tilted at an angle.
Sleeping in poor posture can lead to achy neck and shoulders, tension at the base of the skull and headaches. If you have the right pillow and still wake up with these complaints, it is time to see your local Woodbury Chiropractor. Give us a call at 651-207-6182.
